COVID-19 Vaccine Policy

At GLCT, we firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines as it reduces the risk of the most serious outcomes of COVID-19. To safeguard the health and safety of staff and students, we have carefully crafted and established the COVID-19 vaccine policy.

GLCT VACCINE POLICY: It is MANDATORY for anyone entering the GLCT building to be fully vaccinated, including the visitors.

This VACCINE POLICY is in compliance with any advice, recommendations, and instructions issued by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (OCMOH) and the Ministry of Education. All schools are required to disclose their vaccination status.

GLCT VACCINE MANDATE:

Everyone must comply with the following requirements diligently to keep the school safe and virus-free.

  • All staff members working at GLCT in any capacity are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to disclose and provide proof of their vaccination status for the record-keeping.
  • All students whether living in the dorm or outside are required to be fully vaccinated to attend in-person classes and to disclose and provide proof of their vaccination status for the record-keeping.
  • The unvaccinated students will be moved out of the dorm and consequently miss out on in-person learning opportunities.
  • Unvaccinated new students, upon their arrival, are required to be quarantined for 14 days, in the dorm. The school authorities will arrange for their vaccine appointments at the earliest.
  • Unvaccinated individuals are required rapid antigen testing and a proof of negative result, every two weeks until fully vaccinated.
  • Students residing in the dorm area and refusing to comply with our vaccine mandate will be removed from the dorm.

Message from the Ministry of Health: Verification of Testing

As part of the testing requirements set out in the immunization disclosure policy, all schools must verify that individuals who are not fully vaccinated have completed the rapid antigen test as required and received a negative result.

NOTE: Additional information will be forthcoming on the testing and verification aspect of the mandatory immunization reporting policy. Work is also underway on a digital solution for verifying testing results in partnership with Creative Destruction Lab Rapid Screening Consortium (CDLRSC).
