During their time at GLCT, students select an appropriate combination of academic courses to add to their knowledge and skills base; explore courses of interest; determine the type of educational program they are best suited to pursue in university/college and to gain entrance to university or college. University/college preparation courses include content that is relevant for the study of both university and college programs.
Hybrid Synchronous Learning
At The Great Lakes College of Toronto (GLCT), we use a modern Hybrid Synchronous Learning model that provides students with a flexible and engaging learning experience. Whether students are studying on campus or joining remotely, they receive the same high-quality instruction from our experienced teachers in real time.
Our classrooms are supported by Microsoft Teams for live lessons and communication, along with Moodle LMS for course materials, attendance, assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
Benefits of Hybrid Synchronous Learning
- Live, interactive classes with real-time instruction from qualified teachers.
- Equal learning experience for both in-person and remote students.
- Class recordings available for review, helping students reinforce their understanding and catch up if they miss a lesson.
- Easy access to learning materials, assignments, and grades through Moodle.
- Instant communication and feedback from teachers and classmates.
- Flexible learning option for international students who may be preparing to travel to Canada or require temporary remote access before arriving on campus.
- Smooth transition from online learning to in-person classes without disrupting academic progress.
At GLCT, we are committed to providing a flexible and supportive learning environment that helps students stay connected, engaged, and on track toward earning their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and achieving their university goals.
